New Community Canteen Facing Delays

The opening of Community Canteen's second location - which was slated to open in late July at 12011 Sunset Hills Rd. - has been delayed due to county permits and inspections, says Lee Patton, divisional supervisor for Lettuce Entertain You, Community Canteen's parent company.

The restaurant will feature coffee and pastries, cooked breakfasts, made-to-order salads and other items similar to the original location at Reston Town Center. It will be open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.

The new location is the ground floor of the building that houses Bechtel headquarters.

Patton said the new store is ready, just waiting for a visit from the fire marshal, and the county is backlogged by several weeks.
