Vandals Hit South Lakes HS Again

Class of 2014 Spirit Wall defaced over the weekend.

School and law enforcement officials are investigating a graffiti incident at South Lakes High School.

Sometime over the weekend, the newly painted Class of 2014 Spirit wall was defaced with graffiti. The spray paint was in red and black and said "H-town," presumably to represent Herndon High School

Members of the SLHS senior class painted their names in the wall, an annual school tradition, prior to Friday's home game against Herndon. The Seahawks won the game 10-7.

Several weeks ago, graffiti was painted on athletic facilities at both schools, including the new turf fields at South Lakes. Police have not identified the perpetrators.

Students and alumni Twitter feeds were busy with the news on Monday.

"We are the better team and the better school, and we don't need to vandalize others' property to prove that. stay classy seahawks," wrote the SLHS_Hypesquad.

Meanwhile, assistant director of student activities Mike Astudillo told the South Lakes Sentinel that SLHS students should not focus on getting revenge but should move on and let law enforcement do its job.
