Richard is a married father of two young children in Reston.  He's a current resident of Reston (off and on since 1977) and a product of the Reston schools (Hunter's Woods Elementary, Langston Hughes Intermediate, and South Lakes High).  Richard is currently Director of Marine Services Sales at GeoEye in Herndon, and a former reserve officer in the U.S. Army.

Richard is a big supporter of Reston's founding principles and returned to Reston to raise his family with that in mind after living in various parts of the state, country and world.  He enjoys spending free time with his family in a canoe, sailboat, in any of the Reston pools and green spaces, or out on the golf course. 

From time to time, Richard enjoys commenting on Reston Patch articles in support of good people and ideas.  He's committed to keeping Reston a great place to live, work and play. 

Richard is thrilled with the RestonPatch experiment and hopes it thrives over the coming years.  He believes it to be a tremendous tool to build and sustain the Reston community.
