About Jean

I spent many years as a community activist, grant writer and caterer in Northern Virginia before founding Smart Markets, Inc. to organize and manage farmers' markets. Smart Markets brings together my lifelong interests in food, nutrition, and cooking and my passion for community outreach.  I look forward each day to developing new ways of helping our vendors succeed in their chosen professions and to creating more opportunities to use our markets to help encourage families to eat for good health.
