On Saturday, April 6th, 2024, Monroe County's own Verdo Mcteer (21 years old) emerged victorious at the Eastern Pennsylvania Golden Gloves Championship! Competing in the 156 LBS division, Verdo displayed his true fighting spirit and determination throughout the competition.
Verdo's path to gold wasn't easy. He faced a series of skilled opponents, needing to win all three bouts to be crowned champion. In a hard-fought battle, Verdo emerged triumphant against Nieem Dejesus with a TKO victory in the 3rd round.
Verdo trains at Forever Fitness F2 under the guidance of trainer Jesse Chavers. The gym is known for its talented young fighters, and Verdo is certainly a rising star. With his dedication and skills, we can all expect to see great things from Verdo Mcteer in the months and years to come!
