Yogiberry, the local chain of frozen yogurt stores, celebrated the grand opening of its new Reston store at South Lakes Village Center on Saturday. Yogiberry, which also has a store at Reston Town Center, is a self-serve shop where customers pay by the pound. There is a row of about eight rotating flavors, including cake batter, mango and mint, among others, and dozens of toppings featuring everything from fresh fruit to candy bars to cereal. Yogiberry joins several other Reston frozen yogurt shops, including Iceberry and weetFrog.

Yogiberry frozen yogurt is now open at Reston Town Center. The shop is the new tenant in the space at 1826 Discovery St. (opposite the pavilion), which was formerly occupied by Yogen Fruz. Yogen Fruz closed in December. Yogiberry is a locally based chain that has 11 locations in DC, Virginia and Maryland. It has unusual yogurt flavors such as cake batter, green tea, apple pie and fruit punch. It joins a crowded field of frozen treats at Reston Town Center, already home to Iceberry, Sweetgreen, Be Right Burger, Ben & Jerry's and Pitango Gelato.
