Reston Sprint Tri Signup Starts Next Week

Resolve to complete a triathlon in 2013? Start Jan. 9, when registration for the Reston Sprint Triathlon opens.

Is competing in a triathlon on your list of resolutions for the new year? Here is a way to get started: Registration for the Reston Sprint Triathlon, scheduled for June 2, begins at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This is a popular event, so if you are planning on entering, mark your calendars for Jan. 9. Enrollment will be capped at 740, organizers said. The quarter-mile swim is in the Lake Newport Pool. The bike segment is 12 miles, all within North Reston, with police and volunteer course monitors. The 5K-run run segment is in the heart of North Reston, on streets and on Reston Association paths. Proceeds from the event benefit Reston Interfaith. To register, click here.
