Police: Dead Woman Found at Reston Fire

Police investigating incident at Waterside Apartments as a homicide.

Fairfax County Police and the Fairfax County Fire Marshal are investigating a homicide in the 12000 block of Waterside View Dr. in Reston. The fire department was called to the Waterside Apartments at 6:15 a.m Monday when a neighbor reported smoke, Fairfax County Police spokeswoman Shelley Broderick said. Firefighters forced their way into the apartment, where they discovered a dead adult woman, Broderick said. Police said she died of apparent trauma to the upper body. "The incident is being investigated as a homicide," Broderick said.  Police have not yet identified the victim. They also did not say in which room she was found and whether there are any suspects.
