Reston location of Virginia-based coffee shop closed its doors at the end of October.
Greenberry's Coffee, located at Baron Cameron Avenue and Reston Parkway, has closed its doors. The coffee shop closed on Oct. 31. The store owner said in a note posted on the door that his lease expired. The owner left this note on the door: Dear Customers, Thank you for the business and support you have provided for many years. We close business due to lease expiration. You can continue to use gift card at Greenberry's store located at 6329 Redmond Drive, McLean. Do you think Reston needs coffee house options besides Starbucks? This week's Visions for Vacancies takes us to the granddaddy of Reston space for lease - the anchor spot at Tall Oaks Village Center. The store has been empty since April of 2011, when Compare Foods - the second international grocery in two years- shut its doors. Longtime anchor Giant Foods left Tall Oaks in 2007. In its place was international supermarket Fresh World, which closed in 2009 despite signing a 10-year lease. Compare Foods moved in in the fall of 2009 and was gone within 18 months. Busy strip mall has corner vacancy. What should go here?
For this week's Visions for Vacancies, we take a look at the Home Depot Shopping Center at the intersection of Reston Parkway and Baron Cameron. The Express 7 Food Store recently closed. The space, located at the corner of the retail strip just opposite Home Depot's garden center, remain unoccupied. What do you think would do well in that spot? What should go in this spot at Lake Anne?
The mostly-empty building that used to house Millennium Bank at Lake Anne Plaza has a prime spot across from the Reston Community Center's Lake Anne location and with direct parking lot access. It is also in the center of the action Our Visions for Vacancies this week asks what should go in the 6,600-square-foot building on Washington Plaza? The building has a couple of tenants upstairs, but has been mainly empty since Millennium Bank moved out in 2009. What would you like to see in this spot? Tell us in the comments.
