Teen Convicted in Herndon-Area Animal Slashings

A teenager was convicted Wednesday of attacking a number of animals at and near Herndon's Frying Pan Farm Park.

The teen that was arrested for slashing horses belonging to the SPIRIT Open Equestrian Program, as well as some of Frying Pan Farm Park's animals, has been convicted, according to the Washington Post. The teenager attacked the horses at a paddock adjacent to Frying Pan Farm Park in April. The attack upset many of the SPIRIT volunteers.  A month later the teen went to Frying Pan Farm Park and attacked a number of farm animals, including a calf, two goats and a chicken. The teen was arrested earlier this summer.  The Post reports that the teen tried to ride one of the SPIRIT horses in the original attack, and he attacked the horses after the horse threw him off. All the animals will make full recoveries. He will be sentenced later this year…
