It's time to think summer and sign up for one of RA's many summer camp programs.
There may be a bit of ice on the sidewalks, but there is also a sure sign summer will be here eventually - Reston Association Camp registration for members begins Monday. RA Camps have been a summer tradition for decades. There are camp programs for preschoolers through teenage counselors-in-training. Fairfax County Park Authority needs camp counselors for summer 2013. Here is how to apply.
Looking for a summer job? The Fairfax County Park Authority will be hosting four open calls for Rec-PAC camp employment. The Rec-PAC program will operate camps at 50 elementary school locations around the county on weekdays from July 1 through Aug. 9. During the summer, staff will work at a site daily from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. or 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The open hire sessions will be held on the first floor of the Herrity Building located at 12055 Government Center Parkway in Fairfax from noon - 4 p.m. on March 20, May 15 and May 29. One special open hire session will be held at Mt. Eagle Elementary School in Alexandria from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. April 17. Fairfax County's deadline for summer camp applications closes May 31.
Are you 18 or older and still looking for a summer job? Fairfax County Park Authority may have one for you. Thursday, May 31 is the last day to apply for spots at REC-PAC, the county-run summer camp. There will be a hiring open house at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12055 Government Center Pkwy, Fairfax, Wednesday from noon to 4:30 p.m. To see specific requirements, camp locations and download an application, click here.
