RA OKs Runners Marathon for Reston

The Reston Runners received approval from Reston Association last week to go ahead with plans for Reston's first marathon. About one-third of the course of the Runners Marathon of Reston will take place on RA paths. The race, scheduled for March 24, will finish at South Lakes High School. Reston Runners representatives told the RA Board at its regular meeting Thursday that Northern Virginia (except for a portion of the annual Marine Corps Marathon that goes through Arlington) does not have a marathon-length race and that Reston would be a great fit to host a marathon. There was a road race in South Reston this Sunday morning. I understand it was run by a for profit organization. There's one going on almost 2x per month. Enough already.   more ›
