Uno Chicago Grill at Reston Town Center served its last deep dish pizza Sunday as the resaturant at 11948 Market St. closed for good. "We are hearbroken to announce that today Sunday May 19th will be our last day serving you here in Reston Town Center," the staff wrote on its Facebook site. "We will sadly be closing the doors for the final time tonight at 10 PM. Rather than focus on saying good-bye, we'd prefer to take the time to say THANK YOU to our family here in Reston for allowing us to serve you for 22 years. Arachne Aeriel Arts part of the show at 22nd Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival.
Guests at the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival's opening night party on Friday got a glimpse of art on the ground - where more than 200 artists will display works - and art in the air - where aeriel artists were performing. Arachne Aerial Arts and In-Flight Theater will be performing Aloft! - elevated performances that transform the Town Center Pavilion into an animated flying sculpture garden. Reston Town Center will be one pit stop along the way as thousands will ride their bicycles to work this week.
More than 10,000 Washington, DC-area commuters are expected to use pedal power to get to work on Friday for Bike to Work Day 2013. Washington area events are organized by Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, who say that biking to work has benefits for both employees and employers. Among them: reduced health care and parking costs. There will be 70 "pit stops" around the metro area, including one at the Reston Town Center pavilion. Pit stops will feature free T-shirts, refreshments, and a raffle for a free bicycle. The Town Center pit stop is sponsored by Reston Association and the Reston Bike Club. New gym will be located at One Freedom Square at Reston Town Center.
Reston is going to have another fitness option this fall. Crunch Fitness will open a 25,000-square-foot facility this fall at 11951 Freedom Dr. at Reston Town Center, says Boston Properties, which owns the building location. Crunch is a fitness franchise with locations nationwide, including ones at Metro Center and Chevy Chase in D.C. This would be the second location in Virginia (the other is in Newport News). Crunch is known for its innovative fitness classes such as "ripped ride," "sweatshop," and "gospel aerobics." The gym features products from Bliss Spa in its locker rooms. Region's largest fine arts festival returns to Reston Town Center May 17-19.
Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE) is getting ready for the 22nd annual Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival. The juried show returns to Reston Town Center May 17-19. The three-day event attracts thousands of patrons from across the region and provides an opportunity to participate in the arts and purchase unique works.
