New Board Members for Reston Historic Trust
The Reston Historic Trust and Museum elected two new members to its board of directors at its annual meeting on Thursday. Restonians Kurt Rose and Ann Youngren will serve three-year terms on the board. Some of the highlights of 2012 for the organization: The largest-ever Reston Home Tour, which netted more than $28,000 to benefit the historic trust; a growing number of visitors to the museum at Lake Anne Plaza; well-attended history programs on topics such as Reston and the Civil War, founder Bob Simon's Early Years and Establishing Lake Anne; and a successful Founder's Day.
