The U.S. Postal Service announced it will end Saturday mail delivery by Aug. 1. Speak out: How will this affect you?
Calling the six-days-per-week mail delivery business model “no longer sustainable,” the U.S. Postal Service announced Wednesday it will eliminate Saturday delivery of mail by Aug. 1. The plan to change delivery from six days a week to five would only affect first-class mail. Packages, mail-order medicines, priority and express mail would still be delivered on Saturdays, and local post offices will remain open for business Saturdays. According to the U.S. Postal Service, the reasons are continued economic struggles and the increasing use of the Internet for communications and bill paying by consumers. The U.S. Postal Service is also the only federal agency required to pre-fund health benefits for retirees, and those costs are escalating …
All services now at Sunset Hills Post Office Branch
The U.S. Postal Service, Reston Carrier Annex located at 1860-A Michael Faraday Dr. is closing Wednesday. This office is mostly for the mail carriers, but it is also the place where many residents went to pick up packages or mail that was on a vacation hold. After Wednesday, those services will move to the Reston Branch Post Office at 11110 Sunset Hills Rd.

Good move -- it's about time! Now, when will the PO eliminate Saturday mail delivery and go to standard twice a week delivery? Those who want deliveries more often can pay for extra services or rent a PO box with daily services.   more ›

I take that dsfds is listing the junk mail from his mailbox. Yes, I also. But mine is at least a few of those junk pieces every day.. They come in the front door and without looking at them at all go immediately into the trash. During the first week or so of each month, the bills arrive and the paid bills go out quickly.
