Reston Police Blotter: Laptop Stolen

Incidents reported by the Fairfax County Police for week ending March 7. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Residents of the 12000 block of Greywing Square reported that someone entered their home and stole a laptop computer on March 2 at 10:10 a.m. Entry was made through a rear door, police said. LARCENIES: 2100 block of Centreville Road, items from business 1800 block of Michael Faraday Court, cash and credit cards from business 11800 block of Spectrum Center, cash from business 12000 Sunset Hills Road, cash from vehicle

Crime Report: Two Arrested in Reston Robbery

Police K9s and helicopter chased a Reston man and Herndon man accused of stealing cash and cell phone.

Police arrested two men on Feb. 25 after another man says he was beaten and robbed in the 2200 block of Marginella Drive. The 24-year-old victim told police two men allegedly beat him and stole cash and his cell phone about 3:10 p.m. The suspects fled in a vehicle. Officers found the car and the suspects fled on foot. The helicopter and a K-9 team then assisted in the search. Nydale Sheppard, 27, of Reston, and Angel Hernandez, 19, of Herndon, were each charged with robbery. In other unrelated crime incidents reported by Fairfax County Police for the week ending March 1: GRAFFITI, 2100 block of Cartwright Place, Feb. 23, 5:15 p.m. A resident reported someone wrote words with a marker on the side of the home. Reston Police Report: Unlawful Entry on Greywing Square

Incidents reported by Fairfax County Police for the week ending Jan. 25. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A report of an unlawful entry was made when a property manager told police someone entered a vacant unit in the 12000 block of Greywing Square on Jan. 17 at 9:25 a.m. The unit was vandalized. Forced entry was made through a defective window. In separate and unrelated incidents: BURGLARY, 1500 block of Brookmeade Place, 9:10 a.m. Jan. 19. A resident reported someone entered the garage and stole a purse. Entry was made with the garage door opener from another vehicle in the driveway. BURGLARY, 800 block of Olde Georgetown Court, 7 p.m., Jan. 20. Officers responded for an alarm call. They found a damaged open window in the rear of the home. No one was found in the home. Reston Police Blotter: Thefts at SLHS

Incidents reported by the Fairfax County Police for the week ending Jan. 18. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Several electronic items were stolen from South Lakes High School last week. Students and faculty reported two cell phones, an electronic device and a set of headphones were taken from the school at 11400 South Lakes Dr. It is not known whether the items were taken on the same day.  BURGLARY, 11900 block of Barrel Cooper Court, 8 p.m. on Jan. 12 -  A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a laptop computer. Driver Charged in Crash With School Bus

Car slammed into bus filled with Dogwood Elementary students on Dec. 13.

The driver of a car that hit a Fairfax County School bus on Dec. 13 has been charged with reckless driving. Fairfax County Police say Erika Austin, 40, of Reston was driving her 2003 Kia Spectra about 8:10 a.m. on Dec. 13 when she rear-ended the bus at South Lakes Drive and South Lakes Court. Austin was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Four children on the bus were also taken to Reston Hospital Center for minor injuries, police said. BURGLARY, 2200 block of Milburn Lane, 11/15/12, 9:20 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the attached garage and stole a bicycle. Entry was made by stealing the garage door opener from an unlocked vehicle in the driveway. BUSINESS COMPLIANCE, 11/15/12, Officers conducted checks at 23 businesses. Two adults were charged with selling alcoholic beverages to a person less than 21 years of age. One was at the Lake Anne Market and the other at Rite Aid at Hunters Woods Village Center. ASSAULT, 2300 block of Soapstone Drive, 11/20/12, 6 p.m. A 13-year-old boy reported he was walking home when several boys rode past on bicycles. Incidents reported by the Fairfax County Police for the week ending Nov. 9. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

BURGLARY, 1400 block of Kingstream Drive, Herndon, 11/1/12, 9:50 a.m. Officers responded for an alarm call and found a neighbor who provided a description of two juveniles near the home. Following a search of the area, two 15-year-old boys were arrested and charged with burglary. A laptop computer was stolen. ASSAULT, 11900 Democracy Drive, 10/27/12, 12:40 a.m. The victim was in a discussion with a restaurant manger when an unknown individual struck the victim. The suspect fled and the victim received a minor injury. Police arrest two for Herndon High break-in

Teens charged with burglary in Aug. 22 incident.

A 16-year-old  boy and a 17-year-old boy were arrested for allegedly breaking into Herndon High School, 700 Bennett Street, around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, Fairfax County Police said. They were each charged with burglary. Reston District Station officers did not say what was stolen from the school. In other crime news for the week ending Aug. 27: A bicycle was stolen from a residence in the 2000 block of Capstone Court. A wallet was stolen from a business at North Point Village Center. A radio was stolen from a car at Springwood Drive and Karbon Hill Court.
