Tuesday: Shine a Light on Lung Cancer
Reston Hospital Center program hosts evening vigil.
Reston Hospital Center’s Northern Virginia Thoracic Oncology Program, in partnership with The Lung Cancer Alliance, will host a Shine a Light on Lung Cancer Vigil at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Reston Hospital Center’s conference rooms A and B. The vigil will begin with Girl Scout Troop 5140 presenting pillows they made as part of their “Pillow Project," to comfort lung cancer patients after surgery in Reston Hospital’s oncology program. The candlelight vigil is a part of a nationwide coordinated effort to empower attendees by connecting communities in a national call to action to reduce lung cancer by 50 percent by 2020.
