What is on your holiday cards this year?
The White House Christmas card this year features a painting of Bo, the Obamas' four-year-old Portuguese water dog. Each year the coveted cards are created by work commissioned by an artist or from a photograph taken at the White House. In her book "Season's Greetings from the White House," published in 2007, historian Mary Seeley delves into the details of the annual White House Christmas card, from Calvin Coolidge to George W. Now the only thing left for children to do is track Santa's progress as he delivers gifts around the world on Christmas Eve. Thanks to the folks behind the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) website, families worldwide can now follow Santa's Christmas journey in real time. The tradition started in 1955 after an advertisement for Sears Roebuck & Co. misprinted a telephone number for a special "Santa hotline." Instead of reaching Kris Kringle, the number put kids through to the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) Commander-in-Chief’s operations, according to a description on the NORAD Tracks Santa Facebook page, which has more than …

- HOLIDAY GUIDE
Sunday, December 23, 2012
Earlier this month, PNC Bank released its 2012 Christmas Price Index documenting how much it would cost to buy the characters and objects from the song, "The 12 Days of Christmas."
