A spokesman for Chipotle says the new restaurant planned for South Lakes Village Center is lscheduled to open late this year or early in 2013. Permits necessary to remodel the space at 11160 South Lakes Dr. have been in place since May, when the company's application was approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. While cursory work has begun, there has not been much action at the empty storefront. Chipotle spokesman Chris Arnold did not say if there have been any delays, just that the late 2012-early 2013 timeframe is where the Reston store is slated for now. It will be the third Chipotle in Reston. There are currently locations at Reston Town Center and on Sunset Hills Road.

Mexican restaurant files county application to take over vacant storefront at South Lakes Village Center.
Chipotle Mexican Grill has submitted a Special Exception with the Fairfax County Department of Zoning to permit a fast food restaurant in the South Lakes Village Shopping Center. The restaurant, which has Reston locations on Sunset Hills Drive and at Reston Town Center, would take over the space at 11160 South Lakes Dr. The spot was formerly occupied by Dinner Zen, the make-your-own meals place that closed last spring. Chipotle proposes to convert the existing 3,000-square-foot vacant store using existing building façade, sidewalks, landscaping, utilities, stormwater management, loading area and parking area. I'm so ready for Chipotle to open jan 22. I know it's not healthy food but if you don't like it then don't go there save everybody the space who ready wants Chipotle food and like you said there is subway next door :) more ›
