Reston author Alma Katsu publishes debut novel with Simon and Schuster and already has a deal for two more.
With the publication of her debut novel, Reston author Alma Katsu has already achieved more than most writers can dream of. But for Katsu, there’s more. Much, much more. The Taker, Katsu’s novel mixing love, desire, immortality and the supernatural, was published Sept. 6 as a lead title of publishing giant Simon & Schuster. Making the book a lead title means the publisher is placing a big bet that it will be a success, and is thus granting an initial run of more copies and devoting more money to publicity than it would for most debut novels.
