Save Your Fitness Program From Extinction

Save the fitness program you started on January 1st as a part of a New Years resolution from extinction by adopting a few simple changes.

If you started a fitness program on Jan. 1 as a part of a New Years resolution to exercise more, then you are probably just about ready to stop.

Well, that is, if you are like most people. But before putting the brakes on such a worthy goal, consider a few simple changes to your exercise program. They will help you see faster results and eliminate the number one reason most people stop exercising... boredom.

The term "fitness routine" best describes most people's exercise programs. Hopefully the word routine, defined as "having no special quality or ordinary," does not typify your exercise program. Anything that is routine eventually leads to boredom. By keeping any activity interesting, you stay motivated, challenged and engaged longer.

Maybe this typical example applies to you. You go to the health club and sit on 8 to 10 machines and push some weights around for 20 to 30 minutes. Now after two or three months, the whole process doesn't seem quite so glamorous. Your motivation starts to slip and so do your well intentioned exercise sessions.

I can tell you from personal and professional experience that routine exercise leads to boredom and eventual fitness failure. With fitness, just like everything else, keeping your brain engaged helps you stay challenged. Some fitness trainers would like you to believe that lifting heavier and heavier weights is all the challenge that you need. But for most people, just lifting more weight is really not that challenging or that important. What is important is to feel and look better from exercising more.

For a moment, consider what might happen if you were to step away from those mind numbing machines and learn a whole new, more effective way to strengthen your body. Immediately you would re-engage your brain, increase your commitment to fitness and dramatically improve your exercise results. Now going to exercise would be much easier, challenging and fun.

If you feel your well-placed goals and exercise momentum starting to slip away, now is the time to change course by making three simple fitness changes. I will give you three, easy to implement, exercise suggestions that can improve both the quality and effectiveness of your program. They are:

  1. Switch From Machines to Free Weights
  2. Challenge Your Balance Regularly
  3. Include Exercise Combinations

Try these simple suggestions and watch how much more physically and
mentally challenging your workouts can become. Visit here
