This Weekend: Tour De Lights at Lake Anne, Tenor Tim McKee, Skye Ballet
Tenor Tim McKee, free 'Nutcracker' at Reston Community Center and annual Tour De Lights at Lake Anne highlight weekend events.
The last weekend before Christmas is a busy one in and around Reston, with several holiday events going on.
The Reston Community Center will present Tenor Tim McKee at Reston Town Center Saturday, Dec. 21 at the South Market Promenade, located across the street from the Starbucks.
McKee has been a tenor soloist since 1980, and has operated his own singing telegram service since then. He has also been featured in TV shows such as "The Wire," "The Invasion" and "Empire of Reason."
He will perform at noon and 2 p.m.
The Skye Ballet will host two free performances of "The Nutcracker" at the Reston Community Center Saturday, Dec. 21.
The hour-long performances are free and open to the public, and will be held at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
On Sautrday, Dec. 21, the annual Tour De Lights bike ride will give cyclists a chance to explore the best holiday decorations around Lake Anne. Organized by the Reston Association Pedestrian and Bicycling Advisory Committee, the one-hour ride will start at 4:30 p.m. at the Lake Anne Parking Lot. Cyclists must have rear and front lights.
