Get ready for beer, brats and bands at the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce's Oktoberfest Reston Friday (3 to 11 p.m.), Saturday (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.) and Sunday (12 p.m. to 8 p.m.).

Featured beers include - Dominion Oktoberfest, Starr Hill Northern Lights, James River Brewing Co. and others. Click here to see the list.

Get Your Costume and Run - The Anthem Great Pumpkin 5K on Saturday. Huge fun whether you are a runner, a kid fun runner or just want to wear your Halloween costume and parade in the Pumpkin Smash Mile.  Click here for registration and details.

Fine Arts at Lake Anne Plaza - The Paragon Fine Arts Festival will be held at Lake Anne Plaza Saturday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) This free event will feature  artists and artisans assembled to create an outdoor gallery on the plaza.  Get ready to view and purchase creations in many mediums, including painting, jewelry, sculpting, photography, woodworking, ceramics, glass, fiber art and mixed-media.

Fire Station Open Houses - It's Fire Prevention Week!

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Stations will host their annual open houses on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is a great chance for kids to learn about fire safety, and also meet real firefighters and climb aboard real firefighting equipment.

Area stations are located at 1820 Wiehle Ave. (Station 25), 2610 Reston Parkway (Fox Mill, Station 31), and 1117 Reston Ave. (Northpoint).

Herndon Homecoming Parade and Game - Come cheer on the Herndon High Hornets at the Homecoming parade Saturday at 9:30 a.m. along Elden Street in downtown Herndon. Then, watch the Hornets host Edison at 1 p.m. at HHS.
