Nearly Naked Mile Runners Will Wear a Smile (and little more)

Lots of skin, particularly for this time of year, at Reston Town Center.

The Nearly Naked Mile returns Saturday, Nov. 9, to the Reston Town Center. Proceeds benefit the Burn Center at Medstar Washington Hospital Center and burn survivors will be on hand to thank runners at the finish line.

The event is presented by the Northern Virginia F.O.O.L.S. and Potomac River Running. Outfits should lean toward family friendly, according to organizers.

"We encourage our participants to represent what it means to feel comfortable in one’s own skin, just like the strength that burn victims demonstrate," the site notes, suggesting boxers, sports bras, bikinis, togas, etc.

There's a free beer for runners/walkers over 21, along with commemorative boxer shorts for the first 800 to register. And overall winners will receive Nearly Naked Mile bath robes.

Registration is $30 for all participants and you can register for the Nearly Naked Mile online.
