This Week: Reston Library 'Mini' Holiday Sale, German Christmas Market and More
Gingerbread Village for Philippines relief, Run With Santa 5K at Reston Town Center, German Christmas Market highlight this week's events.
Reston Regional Library Mini Holiday Sale. From Thursday, Dec. 5 to Sunday, Dec. 8, the Reston Regional Library will host their "mini" holiday sale. Books, gifts and other media will be available. The sale will take place Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 .m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Gingerbread Village at the Hyatt Regency Reston. A variety of Gingerbread houses, consisting of more than 145 pounds of sugar, 100 pounds of flour and more, will be on display through Monday, Dec. 9. Donations will be accepted, with all proceeds going to typhoon relief in the Philippines.
German Christmas Market. On Thursday, Dec. 5 from 4 to 9 p.m German Military in Reston will host a traditional outdoor Christmas Market for family and friends with German arts and crafts, as well as German food and beverages. Proceeds will be donated to Local Charities. Please no pets, except service dogs. They are located at: 11150 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191, phone 703-390-3101.
Run with Santa at Reston Town Center. Starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, Potomac River Running will host a 5K run at Reston Town Center. Pre-registered participants will receive a Run with Santa 5k technical long sleeve T-shirt and the first 2,500 people to packet pickup will receive a festive Run with Santa ornament. There will be an awards ceremony as well as food, fun and music after. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers ($300 for 1st, $200 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd).
