Seahawk Block Party, Lake Anne Jazz and the Last Days of Summer

What you need to know in Reston for the week of Aug. 26.

It's almost a wrap for the summer of 2013. How will you spend the final days before Labor Day?

Here are some things to know this week:

1. Fall Sports! The Fourth Annual Seahawk Block Party is Thursday 4:40 to 7: 30 p.m. in the stadium parking lot at South Lakes High School. This free event is open to the local community and future/current South Lakes students. There will be food, games and entertainment. All ages are welcome and in the event of rain, festivities will be located in the SLHS gym.

Show your school spirit. Afterwards, stay and watch the field hockey team play Falls Church on the new turf stadium field.

2. Jazz up - Saturday is the seventh annual Lake Anne Jazz & Blues Festival. Harpist and singer/songwriter Rashina Jolley headlines the annual festival, which runs from 1 to 8 p.m. at Lake Anne Plaza. More info here. 

3. Sign up - Still have not signed up for Reston Little League fall ball? Registration closes Thursday. Click here and sign up.

4. So long summer - Reston Association is hosting a "Farewell to Summer" campfire at the Walker Nature Center fire ring on Friday. 7 p.m.  $5 for RA members; registration is required. Click here for more info.

5. Rock on - See Reston-based band RDGLDGRN perform at a benefit for Saraya Cheney, an employee of Sunset Hills Montessori who recently had a liver transplant. Concert is Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35. Info here.
