Looming Shutdown, Free Burritos and Walking for Cornerstones

Reston news to know for week of Sept. 30.

1. What will October bring? Will there be a federal government shutdown? Stay tuned. In the meantime, read this.

2. Tuesday, celebrate California Tortilla's return to Northpoint Village Center with free burritos from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. More details here.

3  Help the Homeless with a community walk sponsored by Mayflowers at Reston Town Center on Thursday. Proceeds will benefit Cornerstones.

The walk is part of Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless series. A larger walk that will take place on Oct. 27. 

To participate in Thursday's walk, meet at Mayflowers, 11959 Market St.,  at noon. The half mile walk route begins at Mayflowers, A Floral Design Studio and will give walkers an opportunity see and hear about Cornerstones critical work with the homeless at as they walk to the Embry Rucker Community Shelter and back to Town Center.
