Library Battle On, Triathletes Done and Lifetime Debuts
Things you need to know for the week of Sept. 9.
The Fairfax County Library Board is holding a highly anticipated meeting on Wednesday, 7 p.m., at George Mason Regional Library.
The meeting, open to the public, is to discuss proposed changes to staffing and programs in the library system. A grassroots effort has been underway the last few months to try and dissuade the library board from making changes, which could have a big effect on Reston Regional Library.

* Life Time Athletic will open its luxurious 114,000-square-foot Reston facility this week. There will be a members reception on Thursday and first workouts on Friday. Still want to sign up? Stop by the location at 1757 Business Center Dr.
* Ballots for the Reston Community Center Preference Poll should have arrived in residents' mailboxes on Saturday. Candidates are vying for three three-year spots on the RCC Board of Governors.
Balloting begins Sept. 13 and will run through Oct. 3. On Sept. 18 there is a candidates' forum at RCC Hunters Woods. More details here.
