Reston Interfaith Earns Honors at Gala

Reston Interfaith was honores as the large nonprofit of the year at the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce's annual gala Saturday.

About 340 people attended the event, which benefitted the USO programs, including the Emergency Food Assistance Program and Operation Basic Boot Camp, among others. More than $17,300 was raised for the USO through a paddle auction, with Del. Ken Plum (D-36) serving as the auctioneer. 

Other guests of note included Sen. Mark Herring (D-33), Del. Tom Rust (R-86) and Herndon Vice Mayor Lisa Merkel, and Council members Grace Wolf and Bill Tirrell. The gala was chaired by Jenet Ahn, owner of Annalee's Formals.

AdviCoach was chosen as DRCC Small Business of the Year, GraceFul Care was chosen as Midsize Business of the Year and CACI was chosen as Large Business of the Year. 

The Small Nonprofit award was presented to Devotion to Children.  All nonprofit nominees received a $500 donation. Bill Lauer, president of Tetra Partnerships, was awarded Citizen of the Year.
