Building Typhoon Haiyan Relief: Reston Lego Team Starts Fundraiser

First Lego League team Positive Aftermath raising money after summer spent studying dangerous storms.

Everyday, Reston residents, business owners and volunteers use Patch to reach their neighbors with news, events, announcements and fundraisers. Post directly to the site by visiting the Patch boards and clicking on "What do you want to say?"

The area's First Lego League Team Positive Aftermath, made of 6th and 7th graders from several area schools, has been working on projects related to hurricanes and dangerous natural disasters since this summer.

From the board post: "When Typhoon Haiyan hit, the team was in the middle of preparations for their upcoming tournament, but even as the competition was unfolding, in the spirit of helping others, these kids were already resolved to take action.  They came together and created a GoFundMe website where we can ALL contribute and make a difference."
