Day 12, 11, 10...

Jessica says:

Since we missed so many days -- this post has 3 new ways to wear the hot spring trends you are seeing everywhere, while answering one of our reader's questions.

A reader writes:

I have this jacket I love but I know i'm not getting the most out of it.  It's a knitted material so I feel it is more casual. I'm sure there are many ways to wear it.  Please help. How do I wear this? See photo

I have paired these options with my grey blazer (has the same feel as the reader's jacket) so you can see the complete outfit ideas.

Here are some options. Each of these looks incorporates spring's hottest trends. Please note, I added shoes that have more of a spring feel but are still appropriate to wear with a wool blazer. (I know you are dying to get a pedicure and wear open toe shoes -- I AM!) So when the weather is warmer but still chilly enough for a blazer sport these looks!

1. Black and White  Keep it simply black and white. White jeans are ok year round. The trick is to pair them with winter fabrics and colors to keep the style more appropriate for the current season.

2. Floral Prints  Love the silk floral blouses. Floral prints are everywhere for spring (hereherehere.) Pair with jeans, khakis, work pants or a skirt. You can't go wrong with the floral shirt and blazer combo.

3. Print Pants Don't be afraid of the patterned pant (hereherehere, here.) Keep the top simple and classic, and let the pants be the statement piece. Again take off the jacket, and you are ready for spring. Remember when shopping for these trendy pants to find the shape that flatters your body. There are so many different options and they are all on trend be they cropped, skinny or wide-leg!

Try all these looks with a blazer in your closet that doesn't get enough use! Then take away the blazer when the weather gets nicer and you have 6 more looks...
