Lake Fairfax Marina Extends Season

Boating now available until late October.

In years past, Labor Day weekend marked the end of the boating season at Reston's Lake Fairfax Park. However, this year the marina will remain open weekends and holidays through the end of October. Campers and visitors can   enjoy an extra two months of exploring the 20-acre lake by canoe, paddle boat, or aboard a guided tour boat.

Lake Fairfax willl also offer birthday party packages for parties of up to 14 children. Standard packages include rental of a lakefront picnic shelter for two hours, rides on the antique carousel, and ice cream. The deluxe package includes a ride aboard a tour boat. Lakefront picnic shelters have electricity and are perched atop a hill, affording sweeping views of the lake and surrounding forest.

The cost for a standard party is $110, and deluxe parties are $135. Weekend and holiday reservations can be booked in two-hour blocks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and 4 to 6 p.m. Additional children may be added for $5 per child for a standard party and $8 per child for a deluxe party.

Families and partygoers alike are  welcome to explore the park’s 479 acres of woods, fields, and growing network of trails. The campground includes both tent sites and RV hookups (RV sites are closed for construction until March 2013), and the lake is a popular fishing spot.
