5 Days of Summer: Paddleboating on the Tidal Basin

Today, Tuesday, Sept. 17, you can bask in the pleasant sunny weather by taking in some D.C. sites from the water by paddleboating around the Tidal Basin.

The last day of summer is Saturday, Sept. 21. Or, you can look at it this way: The first day of fall is Sept. 22. Patch has found something for you to do each day as we count down until summer passes us by.

View the Jefferson Memorial and Japanese cherry trees from the water. Groups can reserve boats for a paddle between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Sept. 30. The Tidal Basin boats are open until 6 p.m. with the last boats out at 5 p.m.  Two-person and four-person boats are available from Tidal Basin Paddle Boats, 1501 Maine Ave., SW, Washington, DC.
