Several local organizations and community leaders are working on an application for Reston to be recognized for the MetLife Foundation/Generations United Best Intergenerational Communities Award.
We think Reston is a a great example of this type of community on many levels. We want to hear from you before we submit the application!
According to Generations United, "an inter-generational community is not just one where multiple generations reside. It is one where individuals of all ages are an integral and valued part of the setting. This perspective needs is reflected in the families, structures, facilities and services that children, youth and older adults encounter in the community as well as in day-to-day interactions and relationships."
