Reston Schools and the RA Board Are Pedaling Around This Fall

Reston vs. Vienna Bike Challenge

The new school year presents many challenges for students with their new teachers and more challenging studies.  This Fall, the Reston elementary school students can also add another challenge to the list!  They have been challenged by the Vienna elementary schools to see which community can get the most kids walking and biking to school on International Walk to School Day which is held this year on Oct. 9.

The challenge was the idea of Vienna Bike to School advocate, Jeff Anderson and Reston advocates Kelley Westenhoff, Aric Line and Kristen Eddy after the two communities collaborated on Bike to School Day last May.  Reston has a formidable opponent, as Vienna has received national media attention for their efforts to promote biking and walking to school!
