“Bike to Pool Day” Launches in Reston on August 3rd

Reston will host a first-of-its-kind promotion on August 3rd where the community will be encouraged to bike or walk to the pool instead of driving.  The idea was developed by a committee of Reston residents working with the Reston Association Pedestrian & Bicycling Advisory Committee (PBAC) after a very successful Bike to School Day collaboration between nine different schools in Reston.

The committee hopes that this promotion will continue to encourage healthy alternate methods of transportation and to motivate residents to explore more of the over 50 miles of pathways and 15 different pools in Reston.

Residents are encouraged to organize neighborhood and family rides to their favorite pool or visit a pool(s) that they have never been to before.
