Wrestling: Two From SLHS Win District Titles

Forrest brothers both earn Liberty District championships as seven Seahawks advance to regionals.

Brothers Ryan and Josh Forrest both won their weight classes to lead South Lakes to a third-place finish at the Liberty District Wrestling Tournament Saturday at Langley High School.

Senior Ryan Forrest (160) became South Lakes' first-ever four-time District champion. Sophomore Josh Forrest (170) earned his title by pinning his opponent in 48 seconds.

South Lakes coach Bruce Hall says the team's 144 points was the most ever by the Seahaks in District competition. Langley won the team title (216 points), followed by Marshall (192).

Matt Kelly – 6th place, 126 lbs.

Tim Kim – 6th place, 152 lbs.

Owen Wolfe – 6th  place, 220 lbs.
