Wrestling: SLHS Third at Edison Tournament

Maginniss and Forrest take firsts to help boost Seahawks.

South Lakes High School's wrestling team finished third in a two-day, 36-team tournament at Edison High School on Saturday.

Top finishers for the Seahawks: 

Chris Maginniss, first place, 145 lbs. 
Josh Forrest, first place, 182 lbs. 
Mike Shoebottom, second place, 170 lbs. 
Colby Laxton, fifth place, 195 lbs. 
Alex Smurda, fifth place, heavyweight

For the season, Josh Forrest is 17-1, Chris Maginniss is 17-2 and Mike Shoebottom is 17-3.

Forrest's win against a Madison wrestler in the finals helped boost South Lakes ahead of Madison in the team standings. Madison finished fourth. 

The team travels to Stuart High School on Wednesday to take on Stuart and Herndon.
