Former Seahawk track star Alan Webb (SLHS '01) and former basketball coach Wendell Byrd will lead this year's class of inductees into the the Sports Hall of Fame.

He later was the first high schooler to run a mile in less than 4:00 indoors. In 2001, Webb ran the mile in 3:53.43 to shatter Ryun's 36-year-old national high school record of 3:55.3. He also won the Virginia State High School title in the 800 meters (1:47.74) and became the fourth-fastest high schooler ever at that distance.
