Volleyball: Dig Pink Coming Oct. 9

Seahawks to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

The South Lakes High School Volleyball team will take part in its annual Dig Pink event Oct. 9 at Marshall High School.

Dig Pink is an initiative of the Side-Out Foundation. Dig Pink is aimed at educating and increasing awareness and knowledge about breast cancer. There will be special Dig Pink events as part of the evening.

Freshmen begin at 5 p.m.; junior varsity at at 6 p.m. and varsity at 7:15 p.m.

Spectators are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.

The varsity volleyball team is 9-7 and went 3-1 at the Hayfield Invitational on Saturday. 

Field hockey - the varsity field hockey team was 10-4 heading into Monday's game at Stuart High School.

The girls play thier final home game of the season Oct. 5 at 5:15 p.m. (Senior NIght) against Thomas Jefferson.
