Stone Bridge Rolls Over South Lakes, 50-13
Bulldogs bounce back from Chantilly upset, rout winless Seahawks in Liberty District opener.
In the Liberty District opener for both schools, the Stone Bridge Bulldogs jumped out to a 36-0 first half lead on the way to a 50-13 win over the South Lakes Seahawks in Ashburn Friday night.
Stone Bridge had a 15-game regular season unbeaten streak snapped by Chantilly last week, but started off strong against the Seahawks with an 88-yard return for a touchdown by Stan Johnson on the opening kickoff.
Two touchdown runs by Sterling Dailey and Stephen Trivieri boosted the Bulldogs' lead to 22-0 at the end of the first quarter, while quarterback Ryan Burns threw two second-quarter touchdown passes of 17 and 58 yards to Jake Kuzbel to extend the lead to 36-0.

The Seahawks offense was unable to function effectively against the Stone Bridge defense: South Lakes ran for -21 yards and quarterbacks Rashaan Jones and Calvin Vaughan combined for six completions and three interceptions on the night.
Both South Lakes touchdowns came on returns: a 50-yard interception return by Stanley Lindsay after Stone Bridge inexplicably ran two passing plays at the end of the first half instead of running the clock out to halftime with a 36-point lead, and a 34-yard punt return from Khayri Denny in the fourth quarter.
