Spirit of Reston 5K Race Benefits South Lakes High School Band
SLHS boys lacrosse beats Herndon.
Runners of all ages gathered in a chilly drizzle at South Lakes High School Saturday for the Spirit of Reston 5K. The raised funds for the South Lakes High School marching band, and will go towards new band equipment and scholarships.
The runners were surprised with some live band music at the two-mile mark with drumbeats that kept them motivated to the finish line.
Prizes were provided by Sport and Health of Reston, plus Glory Days and Massage Envy, both at Fox Mill Shopping Center.

The score was tied 3-3 after the first quarter. The Seahawks (6-1) led by three a the half, and by four in the third quarter. In the fourth, the Hornets narrowed the difference to two.
