South Lakes Track Tops at Legard Relays

South Lakes High Schools Boys and Girls Track and Field teams placed first and second, respectively, at the 24-team Legard Relays at Westfield High School last weekend.

Event winners included Ashkan Mohammadi, Luis Rivas, Sawyer Ballard,Michael McHugh (4x1600); Corey Gilmore, Rashaan Jones (triple jump relay); Armando Drain, Raj Pilaka (hurdles relay); Jasmin Colon, Sumiya Yates (discus throw relay).

Medal winners included Colon and Yates in the Shot Put relay; the spring medley relay of Claire Nieusma, Naima Coleman, Kristin Tran and Kyannah Calhoun;  the 4x100 meter relay of Aeron Thai, Christian Gaston, Elias Ingea and Brian Brinson; the 9th/10th 4x400 relay of Nieusma, Augusta Durham, Ozioma Chinaka, and Grace Gillen; the 4x400 relay of Emily Lopynski, Haley Vaughn, Savannah Barden, and Coleman; the 9th/10th4x400 team of Austin Moore, Max Gillum, Thai, and Josh Keeley; and the 4x44 relay of Aren Durana, Nathan Vellayan, Connor Metcalf and Sam Ezersky.
