South Lakes Sports Roundup

South Lakes High School's baseball team fell 2-0 at Langley on Tuesday. 

The Seahawks threatened in the first but were turned away.  The Saxons struck in the bottom of the fourth with two runs to complete the scoring for the game.  Senior Bobby Rae Allen pitched a complete game in the loss.

The Seahawks defensive play of the game came in the fourth inning when junior short stop JoJo Lear snagged a ground ball and quickly fed the ball to sophomore 2nd baseman Matt Wojciechowski who relayed it to sophomore first baseman Kyle King to help end a bases loaded threat from the Saxons.

Over spring break, the Seahawks finished second in pool play in a tournament in in the Mingo Bay Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The highlight was a 13-0 win over Garfield High School.  Allen pitched a one hit shutout and received plenty of offensive support.  The Seahawks lost to Battlefield High School in the first round of elimination play in an 11-17 shootout.

Girls soccer

The Seahawks defeated Falls Church High School 2-0 Thursday.

The first half ended with a 0-0 tie, but was then followed by a second-half goal and penalty kick, both from sophomore, Elise Andrich. 

The Seahawks next game is at home at Monday against Mount Vernon High School.
