South Lakes HS Hires New Wrestling Coach

Former Langley coach led Saxons to Liberty District title.

South Lakes High School has hired Stephen Brown to lead its wrestling program.

Brown replaces Bruce Hall, who resigned after the 2012-13 season. Brown is a Special Ed teacher at South Lakes and will also be a freshmen football coach.

Brown, who lives in Reston, had been varsity wrestling coach at Langley and Stuart High Schools.  He was also the assistant wrestling coach at Langley (five years) and Yorktown (three years).

As a head coach at Langley High School, Brown led his team to a Liberty District title and fourth place in the Northern Region.  He was named the Assistant Wrestling “Coach of the Year” for the Northern Virginia Region in 2007.  Also, that same year, Langley won the Regional tournament.
