Boys defeat Fairfax for Liberty District win.

South Lakes High School girl's basketball's 10-game winning streak came to an end on Friday as the Fairfax topped the Seahawks 49-45 at South Lakes.

South Lakes had not lost since West Springfield defeated them by one point on Nov. 29.

Fairfax (9-3, 4-0) was powered by Kylie Murphree, who had a season-high 28 points.

The Seahawks (11-2 overall, 4-1 Liberty District), were coming off the championship in the IAABO Holiday Classic, which helped them earn a No. 14 ranking by the Washington Post.

South Lakes was led by Abigail Rendle and Gabrielle Schultz with 11 points each.

Next up for the Seahawks, at home against Marshall, 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

I think they're 4-1 in the district not 4-2. They've lost to two teams, Fairfax and West Springfield. West Springfield isn't in Liberty district.
