SLHS Basketball: Boys Out, Girls Dominate

No. 20 Seahawks girls defeat Marshall by 58 points in Liberty District tournament opener.

The 2012-13 basketball season ended for South Lakes High School's boys basketball team Tuesday in a 52-45 loss at Fairfax in the quarterfinals of the Liberty District Basketball Tournament.

The boys finish the season 9-14 overall, 6-8 Liberty. Sophomore Brandon Kamga led the team with 17 points.

The top-seeded girls team had an easy time with Marshall in its 78-20 quarterfinal victory.

The Seahawks (20-3 overall, 13-2 Liberty) were leading 27-0 after the first quarter and held a 43-5 margin at halftime. South Lakes had 27 steals and eight blocks. 

In the semifinals, the girls play No. 4 seed Madison at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at South Lakes.
