Several SLHS Swimmers Move On To Next Round

Seahawk individuals, relays place high at Liberty District Meet to advance to regionals and states.

Several South Lakes High School swimmers achieved season-best times at the Liberty District Meet at Audrey Moore Rec Center in Annandale on Friday and Saturday.

The girls 200 medley relay team of Sierra Scoggin, Emily Sennett, Sabrina Groves and Sasha Avilov swam a state-meet cut in 1:52.12. The 200 free relay team of Avilov, Kaylyn Macaluso, Madeleine Daum and Sennett also advanced to States with 1:42.09.

The girls 400-free relay team (Groves, Daum, Natalie Obando and Scoggin) made next weekend's Northern Regional Meet with its time of 3:44.89.

High points for individuals included Avilov in the 50 Free (third place, 25.15/REG); Sennett in the 100 Fly (1st place, 57.40/STA); Scoggin's 100 Back (1st place, 58.59/STA); and 200IM (1st place, 2:11.11/STA).

For the Seahawk boys, seniors Tiger Barbee and Dane Pilcher swam personal bests. Barbee placed third in the 200 Free with a 1:46.29 (STA) and third in the 100 Free with a 49.46 (REG).

Pilcher swam the 200IM in 2:02.75, a regionals cut, and he achieved another personal best in the 100 Breast, with a 1:03.16 (REG).

Jake Andrich finished third in boys one-meter diving and will compete at regionals.

The Northern Region Meet takes place this weekend at Oak Marr Rec Center in Oakton.
