Seahawks Looking for First Victory

Winless South Lakes Hosts 3-0 Fairfax Friday.

South Lakes High School returns to hits home field Friday, hoping for its first victory under first-year head football coach Marvin Wooten.

The Seahawks (0-3, 0-1 Liberty) are  Stone Bridge had lost just one game in the previous 16 regular-season matchups.

South Lakes opened the season with a 52-6 thrashing by Westfield (in which Wooten coached his ) and a 33-7 loss to Herndon in a game that was postponed three days due to rain.

So the Seahawks are ready to win, but can they?

Well, Fairfax (3-0, 0-0)  has shown they can do a lot in 2011, despite losing every statistical leader from the 2010 team.

The Rebels were forced into double overtime against McLean last week. Rebels’ junior kicker, Zach Intermill redeemed himself from an earlier miss by nailing a game-winning, 25-yard field goal to give the Rebels a 19-16 victory.  

The Rebels have shown strength in their running game.  Four rushers have more than 100 yards through the first three games and two others have more than 80 yards. 

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
