Jefferson Shuts Out South Lakes in Finale

Running back O'Connor leads Colonials to 36-0 victory.

Thomas Jefferson, fueled by running back Patrick O'Connor's 205 rushing yards blanked South Lakes 36-0 in the final regular-season game Friday night at South Lakes.

The Seahawks end the season 3-7 overall, 1-9 Liberty District. Jefferson, at 6-4 (3-4 Liberty) has a chance to make the postseason for the first time since 2008. The team's hopes rest on the outcome of Saturday's McLean -Langley game; a loss by McLean means Jefferson advances).

Jefferson's defense held South Lakes - which was shut out 53-0 by Marshall a week ago - to 176 total yards. South Lakes was in scoring territory several times, but was plagued by two first-quarter end zone interceptions (one of which led to an 80-yard scoring drive and touchdown by Jefferson).
